Job summary

Eon in Denver seeks an experienced Integration Engineer (Epic Integration Specialist) to design, develop, and maintain deep Epic EHR integrations. The role focuses on HL7/FHIR, .NET (C#), and AWS-based data pipelines for secure, scalable patient data exchange.

You will collaborate with product, QA, and vendor teams to implement APIs, manage Epic services, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving robust, enterprise-grade integration solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in healthcare system integrations, focusing on Epic platform integration and Epic vendor services.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in .NET (C#) development.
• Experience deploying integration solutions in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Hands-on with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, ECS.
• Deep understanding of HL7 (v2/v3), FHIR, CCD, and CDA.
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs for enterprise data exchange.
• Strong data engineering knowledge including ETL pipelines and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain deep integrations with Epic EHR systems for real-time data exchange and workflow interoperability.
• Implement and optimize HL7, FHIR, and Epic APIs across client environments.
• Manage Epic Vendor Services, including configuring apps in the Epic App Market and collaborating with Epic TS teams.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QA to understand Epic integration requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Build and manage APIs, Epic Interconnect, and middleware for secure, low-latency data transfer between external systems and Eon platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues to maximize uptime and reliability.
• Monitor and improve the scalability of existing Epic and multi-EHR integrations.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and data privacy security in all integrations.
• Document technical specifications, workflows, and vendor service mappings for teams and clients.
• Apply data engineering principles to design ETL pipelines transforming Epic-derived data into analytics.
