Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Financial Services Representative – Hospital Billing to ensure efficient and timely billing and collections for inpatient and outpatient accounts across a large multi-facility system. The role requires strong knowledge of AR/Billing processes, EPIC experience, and excellent communication with payers, patients, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will manage queues, review claims for accuracy, apply payments and adjustments, and escalate issues

Qualifications

• 2+ years AR/Billing experience required
• Clear oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Epic Hospital Billing System to review and monitor accounts in Billing, Denial, and Follow-Up queues
• Follow up on outstanding and denied claims to maximize reimbursement
• Communicate with insurance carriers to confirm payment dates and reasons for denials
• Review accounts for accurate billing, payments, and adjustments prior to moving to the next party
• Document actions in EPIC notes and follow up/denial sections
• Escalate problematic accounts within 2 days of identification
• Handle external claim edits from Clearinghouse and resubmissions
• Process paper claims with proper documentation
