Qualifications

Under moderate direction, the Epic Analyst supports and maintains Epic Hospital Billing applications with a focus on Home Health and Hospice services. This role partners closely with revenue cycle teams, Home Health and Hospice operations, coding, compliance, finance, and IT to ensure stable day-to-day system performance and accurate billing workflows.

The Analyst is responsible for ongoing application support, issue resolution, claims troubleshooting, and system optimization to ensure reliable reimbursement and regulatory compliance in a live production environment.

Module Focus – Epic HB Claims – Home Health/Hospice

This role will support Epic Hospital Billing operations specific to Home Health and Hospice, including:

• Ongoing support of Home Health/Hospice billing workflows
• Claims processing aligned with CMS and payer regulations
• Monitoring OASIS-related billing impacts (if applicable)
• Reimbursement validation and issue resolution
• Reviewing claims edits and denial trends
• Supporting regulatory compliance monitoring
• Assisting with testing and validation of payer-specific updates

Strong knowledge of Home Health and Hospice billing regulations and reimbursement methodologies is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Application Support & Maintenance

• Provide day-to-day support for Home Health and Hospice billing workflows
• Respond to and resolve billing-related incidents and tickets
• Troubleshoot claim rejections, billing edits, and reimbursement discrepancies
• Escalate complex issues as needed and ensure timely resolution
• Document and track resolved incidents

Claims & Reimbursement Oversight

• Monitor claims processing to ensure accurate reimbursement
• Identify trends in denials and recommend corrective actions
• Support compliance with CMS and payer requirements
• Collaborate with revenue cycle and compliance teams on billing concerns

Testing & Validation Support

• Assist with testing related to payer updates, regulatory changes, or system enhancements
• Validate billing outcomes prior to deployment
• Participate in user acceptance testing when required

Workflow Optimization

• Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within HH/Hospice billing
• Provide guidance to operational teams on system functionality

System Performance

• Support system stability in a production environment
• Monitor billing performance metrics and elevate anomalies
• May participate in an after-hours on-call rotation

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2–5 years of Epic Hospital Billing experience in a live production environment
• Experience supporting Home Health and/or Hospice billing workflows
• Ability to obtain Epic Hospital Billing certification within 6 months

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience supporting operational billing teams
• Strong understanding of CMS reimbursement methodologies for Home Health and Hospice
• Experience in a complex healthcare revenue cycle environment
