Job summary

University of Miami Information Technology & Systems Department seeks a full-time Epic Analyst 2 to support hospital billing workflows through Epic HB configurations, testing, and go-live activities. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders, end-users, and application teams to optimize configuration, function, and access.

The ideal candidate will have Epic HB certification, 3+ years in hospital billing administration, and strong problem-solving, communication, and project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of Hospital Billing Administration with proficiency in Charging, Contracts, and Claims/Remittance.
• Epic HB certification required; additional Epic certifications (e.g., PB, Resolute) preferred.
• Experience with Epic upgrade cycles, testing, and documentation.
• Experience working in a multi-hospital or integrated delivery network environment.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, payer requirements, and billing compliance.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Configures, builds, and maintains Epic HB applications to support hospital billing workflows.
• Analyzes and translates business requirements into system specifications and solutions.
• Leads and participates in system testing, validation, and go-live support.
• Troubleshoots and resolves application issues, minimizing disruption to billing operations.
• Collaborates with revenue cycle teams to identify workflow optimization opportunities.
• Maintains documentation for system configurations, processes, and training materials.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and billing standards.
• Participates in on-call rotations and provides after-hours support as needed.
• Supports change management processes and adheres to IT governance policies.
