Job summary

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Clinical Content Specialist to design, build, and govern clinical content within the Epic EHR. You will collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to drive evidence-based tools and workflows that improve patient care and safety.

You will lead content governance, develop training materials, and support system updates while ensuring alignment with policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Epic certification obtained and maintained within 6 weeks of training.
• Bachelor's degree in clinical or technology-related area required.
• Master's degree preferred in clinical or technology field.
• 5 years of related work experience; 3 years in healthcare/health IT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and maintenance of clinical content in the EHR (order sets, care pathways, templates, CDSS).
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to enable integrated workflows and better user experience.
• Works with training to develop user guides, tip sheets, and training materials.
• Ensures content alignment with policies, regulatory requirements, and standards.
• Supports content governance and version control processes for changes.
• Serves as a subject matter resource for documentation tools and alerts.
• Participates in design, build, testing and maintenance of Epic applications.
• Documents configurations and workflows with clear auditability.
• Contributes to Epic updates and go-live support for new features.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Epic functionality and training.
• Leads stakeholder engagement, rounds with clinical teams, gathers feedback.
