Job summary

UNC Health Appalachian seeks a Quality Champion Medical Assistant to support Epic system enhancements and PCIC initiatives across outpatient clinics in Boone, NC. The role bridges clinical operations with quality improvement, focusing on closing care gaps and improving data accuracy.

You will train staff, manage panels, monitor quality metrics, and help document processes while traveling between sites as needed. A CMA/RMA with BLS and Epic exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• CMA or RMA certification required.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Epic certification a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support Epic system enhancements and ensure proper usage by staff.
• Serve as liaison between clinical teams and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in staff training on quality metrics and documentation processes.
• Monitor and track quality performance data to meet benchmarks.
• Manage PCIC panel responsibilities including attribution and care-gap closure.
• Coordinate with providers to ensure timely interventions and accurate documentation.
• Assist with data analysis and regulatory audits or accreditation reviews.
• Support compliance with NCQA and Joint Commission standards.
