Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Clinic Services Specialist to support access, scheduling, and patient advocacy in a busy outpatient setting. You will assist with check-in via Epic, update patient data, and ensure smooth flow through the clinic to enhance the patient experience.

Responsibilities include answering calls, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and coordinating with nursing staff to address scheduling concerns while maintaining professional conduct and service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Six months to 1 year administrative experience.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Experience in customer service; healthcare setting preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient appointment check-in and scheduling via Epic.
• Answer clinic calls, route messages, and provide patient guidance.
• Update patient demographics and insurance data; collect co-pays.
• Facilitate patient flow and direct to waiting areas.
• Support service recovery and escalate issues as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to improve scheduling processes.
