Job summary

Clarity Partners in Chicago, IL seeks an Epic Applications & Project Manager to provide leadership for a large public sector client, guiding Epic outpatient clinical applications across oncology, research, and specialty pharmacy.

You will own application build, clinical workflows, testing, readiness, go-live, and the transition to ongoing operations, coordinating cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Healthcare Admin, Clinical Informatics, Pharmacy, Research Admin, Business, or related field; experience may substitute.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible healthcare IT experience with clinical applications.
• Recent hands-on experience leading Epic implementations in complex healthcare environments.
• Experience leading Epic application and technical teams through full implementation lifecycle.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across clinical, pharmacy, research, and IT.
• PMP or comparable project management certification preferred; Epic cert/accreditation preferred.

Clarity Partners is seeking an Epic Applications & Project Manager to provide dedicated leadership and oversight for a large public sector client's specialized Epic outpatient clinical applications, spanning oncology, research, and specialty pharmacy. In this role, you will lead specialized application build, clinical workflows, testing, dependencies, readiness, go-live, and transition to ongoing operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Epic specialized outpatient application build and configuration decisions.
• Lead oncology, research, and specialty pharmacy workflow design and validation sessions.
• Direct testing activities (unit, integration, end-to-end) across the assigned applications.
• Manage cross-application and cross-team dependencies through the implementation timeline.
• Lead go-live readiness assessments and go-live execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Informatics, Pharmacy, Research Administration, Business, or a related field required; equivalent progressively responsible experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible healthcare IT experience, including significant experience implementing and supporting clinical applications.
• Recent, hands-on experience leading Epic implementations within academic medical centers, safety-net hospitals, large integrated health systems, or similarly complex healthcare environments required.
• Current or very recent experience leading Epic application and technical teams through the full implementation lifecycle, including design, workflow and build decisions, testing, readiness, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.
• Experience leading complex clinical application projects and coordinating dependencies across clinical, pharmacy, research, operational, technical, and vendor teams.
• Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and manage relationships with executive-level clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of specialty outpatient clinical workflows, oncology, medication management, pharmacy, and research operations, as well as the technical and operational considerations of enterprise EHR implementations.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, application resources, vendors, and subcontractors, including priorities, milestones, risks, issues, and implementation deliverables.
• Strong organizational change management and end-user adoption experience, supported by excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for clinical, research, and business audiences.
• Direct experience with Epic Beacon, Willow Ambulatory, Specialty Pharmacy, Research, clinical trials (CTMS) functionality, or closely related specialty outpatient applications strongly preferred.
• Current or previous Epic certification or accreditation in a relevant application area strongly preferred; ability to obtain required Epic certification or accreditation within established program timelines required.
• PMP or comparable project management certification preferred.
• Experience working with public health systems, safety-net institutions, or county or government healthcare organizations preferred.
• Previous experience in a consulting or staff augmentation environment preferred.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Epic Applications & Project Manager, the base salary pay range is $125,000 - $145,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
