Job summary

Clarity Partners is hiring an Epic Applications & Project Manager to provide leadership for a large public sector client Epic laboratory implementation in Chicago. You will lead laboratory builds, workflow design, testing, readiness, go-live, and transition to ongoing operations.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in IT/Healthcare, 7+ years of healthcare IT experience, and recent Epic Beaker experience.

Qualifications

Clarity Partners is seeking an Epic Applications & Project Manager to provide dedicated leadership and oversight for a large public sector client Epic laboratory implementation. In this role, you will lead laboratory application build, workflow design, testing, dependencies, readiness, go-live, and transition to ongoing operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Epic laboratory application build and configuration decisions.
• Lead laboratory and pathology workflow design and validation sessions.
• Direct testing activities (unit, integration, end-to-end) across the laboratory applications.
• Manage cross-application and cross-team dependencies through the implementation timeline.
• Lead go-live readiness assessments and go-live execution.
• Own the transition from go-live support into ongoing operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Informatics, or a related field required; equivalent progressively responsible experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible healthcare IT experience, including significant experience implementing and supporting laboratory information systems or clinical applications.
• Recent, hands‑on experience leading Epic implementations within academic medical centers, safety‑net hospitals, large integrated health systems, or similarly complex healthcare environments required.
• Current or very recent experience leading Epic application and technical teams through the full implementation lifecycle, including design, workflow and build decisions, testing, readiness, cutover, go‑live, and stabilization.
• Experience leading complex laboratory application projects and coordinating dependencies across laboratory, clinical, technical, interface, operational, and vendor teams.
• Proven ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and manage relationships with executive‑level clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of laboratory and clinical workflows, laboratory information systems, orders and results, and interfaces, as well as the technical and operational considerations of enterprise EHR implementations.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, application resources, vendors, and subcontractors, including priorities, milestones, risks, issues, and implementation deliverables.
• Strong organizational change management and end‑user adoption experience, supported by excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for clinical, laboratory, and business audiences.
• Direct experience with Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology, Beaker Anatomic Pathology, or closely related laboratory functionality strongly preferred.
• Current or previous Epic Beaker certification or accreditation strongly preferred; ability to obtain required Epic certification or accreditation within established program timelines required.
• PMP or comparable project management certification preferred.
• Experience working with public health systems, safety‑net institutions, or county or government healthcare organizations preferred.
• Previous experience in a consulting or staff augmentation environment preferred.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Epic Applications & Project Manager, the base salary pay range is $105,000 - $125,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
