Job summary

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. is hiring an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Field Technician in Chesapeake, VA. The role focuses on servicing, diagnosing, and repairing EPG rental equipment at Carter or customer sites.

Starting compensation includes a sign-on bonus and an hourly pay range. Candidates should be able to travel and work after hours as needed, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communicator with oral and written skills.
• Able to work independently in the field and travel as needed.
• Must be able to obtain CDL and/or DOT certification.
• Experience with UPS and parallels, diagnosing engine failures.

Responsibilities

• Service, diagnose, and repair EPG rental equipment at Carter or customer facilities.
• Perform duties to keep equipment reliable and safe.
• Provide excellent customer service and clear communication.
• Travel as required, including after-hours on-call and overtime.
• Promote a safe work environment and adhere to Carter Way values.
