Job summary

Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking a Field Technician to install and start up Caterpillar power generation systems at client sites in Vernal, UT. The role requires CDL and the ability to manage project documentation, training, and on-site coordination. Overnight travel is expected, with some international travel possible.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL and operate safely according to Wheeler safety standards.
• Experience with startups/commissioning of power generation systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and start-up/commissioning tasks on Wheeler equipment (engine/generator, ATS/switchgear, emissions control, fuel systems).
• Develop and deliver customer operation and maintenance training.
• Coordinate project documentation, submittals, drawings, and manuals; manage scheduling and changes.
• Perform on-site oversight of installation; communicate with sales, vendors, customers, contractors, and engineers.
