Job summary

Total-Western, Inc. in Paramount, CA is seeking an experienced Estimator - EPC to join our team.

You will develop accurate cost estimates for all phases of EPC projects, coordinating with engineering, procurement and project management to deliver competitive bids. The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering or construction management, 5+ years of EPC estimating, proficiency with ProEst or Sage Estimating, and strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in estimating for EPC projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, or similar.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyze large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for EPC projects, covering materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to review project scopes, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate bid proposals and estimates.
• Identify potential risks and incorporate contingency plans into cost estimates to address uncertainties in scope, timeline, and project execution.
• Engage with vendors and subcontractors to gather cost information, review quotes, and assess supplier performance.
• Prepare and present bid packages, including detailed breakdowns of labor, material, and equipment costs, to senior management for review and approval.
• Ensure that cost data, including historical cost records and benchmarking information, is regularly updated and maintained for future project reference.
• Support the project management team during contract negotiations by providing accurate cost-related information and assisting with the evaluation of bid proposals.
