Job summary

Aecon is seeking a Project Manager to lead utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects under an EPC model. You will be accountable for safe, high-quality delivery from contract award through commissioning, energization, and closeout, while achieving schedule, cost, and client objectives.

Locations include Port Huron, Detroit, MI and Milwaukee, WI, with regular travel to project sites. The role requires strong leadership, multi-discipline coordination, and proven experience in EPC

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 7–10 years of project management experience in EPC construction or utility-scale energy projects.
• PMP or P.Eng designation and electrical engineering background are assets; experience with BESS or substations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution across engineering, procurement, and construction.
• Manage scope, schedule, milestones, and project performance with controls.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and cash flow.
• Identify, assess, mitigate risks and issues; drive resolutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across stakeholders to meet objectives.
• Lead project meetings and ensure timely, accurate reporting to clients.
• Administer contracts and support change orders and claims management.
• Ensure compliance with contract, specs, regulations, and safety standards.
• Oversee commissioning, energization, and turnover to client; closeout activities.
• Promote safety and quality throughout project delivery.
