Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an EPC Automation Lead in Chandler, AZ, to drive the end-to-end deployment, configuration, and integration of Bechtel’s EPC applications on the Micron project. The role oversees a unified automation team spanning Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Startup, ensuring data-centric delivery aligned with the Project Automation Plan.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or information management and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
• Significant EPC experience and cross-functional project understanding.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and integrating EPC software on large projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and ability to influence without authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment of Bechtel’s full suite of EPC applications on the Micron project — including the Electronic Document Management System (Aconex), design and model authoring tools (Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk Revit/AutoCAD), material and procurement applications (Agile, Bulk Material Utilities), Power Platform solutions, and Bechtel Data Mesh / data-integration services — in alignment with the Project Automation Plan.
• Own tool selection, configuration, user-group setup, certification, and rollout, ensuring software is tested and certified appropriately in the Bechtel network environment.
• Ensure tool selection and deployment, data requirements and structure, and the project automation and integration plan support the overall Project Execution Plan.
• Provide direction to the EPC Automation team and Project IS&T on the deployment of automation tools, identifying user groups, and ensuring integration of the various software tools through the CDE.
• Drive integration across applications so cross-functional data flows seamlessly (3D model schedule cost documents analytics), reflecting the project’s Level 1 Automation Diagram and AI-enablement opportunities.
• Provide direction and coordination across functional automation leads to deliver the best outcomes for project delivery and advanced work packaging.
• Supervise and lead automation leads and teams across all functions.Coordinate closely with Engineering to ensure alignment and integration with BIM requirements, including BIM Lead(s) at 3rd-party engineering consultants and/or construction firms.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction to ensure continuity and appropriate level of detail to support each project phase.
