Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City, MO seeks a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer to lead design and delivery of automation, controls, and related engineering for EPC projects across food, pharma, life science and industrial facilities. You’ll drive PLC/HMI design, FATs, start-up, and field support with up to 30% travel.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited degree and have FE certification, with extensive experience in Rockwell/Siemens PLCs, SCADA, MES/BATCH, and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited program and FE exam; 7 years electrical engineering experience.
• Master’s degree and EPC project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for automation and controls scope on EPC projects.
• Manage a team of engineers, specialists, and designers across multiple disciplines.
• Develop and review PLC/HMI programming, FATs, and start-up activities.
