Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or related life science field.
• Minimum 3 years of microbiology laboratory experience.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience performing EPA disinfectant efficacy testing (AOAC Testing).
• Experience with AOAC International test methods and ASTM antimicrobial testing standards.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques, sterile procedures, and culture maintenance.
• Experience working under GLP and quality management systems.
• Proficiency in data analysis and technical report writing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform EPA disinfectant and sanitizer efficacy testing following established protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct antimicrobial efficacy studies using methods including AOAC Use-Dilution, Germicidal Spray Products Test, Hard Surface Carrier Tests, and Quantitative Carrier Tests.
• Assess bactericidal, fungicidal, and sporicidal efficacy.
• Prepare microbial cultures, inocula, media, and reagents required for testing.
• Execute laboratory studies in accordance with GLP, SOPs, and quality system requirements.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, raw data, and electronic records.
• Analyze microbiological data and prepare technical reports for clients and regulatory submissions.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment (incubators, biosafety cabinets, autoclaves, counters).
• Participate in method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Support EPA registration requirements by generating scientifically sound efficacy data.
• Assist with laboratory investigations, deviations, CAPAs, and quality audits.
• Ensure adherence to laboratory safety procedures and biosafety practices.
