Job summary

The University of Utah Health seeks a Nurse Educator to develop and administer population-specific staff education, coordinate unit/specialty classes, and maintain education records. The educator acts as a catalyst for change and supports the Exceptional Patient Experience culture.

This role may require direct patient care and medication access within scope. It involves rotating schedules to meet 24/7 needs of a complex health system in Salt Lake City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalency.
• Current RN license to practice in Utah, or eligible via Interstate Compact.
• RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential within 30 days of hire.
• RQI Healthcare Provider ALS eCredential within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred RCIS or RCES certification.
• Preferred Master's degree in nursing, education, or related field.
• Trainer certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers clinical nursing orientation and mentors staff.
• Evaluates education program effectiveness and develops new education.
• Supports nurses and staff as patient/family educators.
• Maintains unit education records and staff files.
• Leads and participates in Clinical Education Committee activities.
• Coordinates nursing student rotations and collaborates with unit leadership.
