Job summary

Wellington Shire Council’s Culture and Leisure unit seeks a Customer Service Officer (Lifeguard) for Aqua Energy and rural pools. This casual, on-site role focuses on supervising patrons, maintaining water quality, and delivering professional customer service in a safe aquatic environment.

Qualified lifeguards with First Aid/CPR and Working with Children Check are encouraged to apply; you will support trainees and work with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
• Level 2 First Aid and CPR qualifications.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Strong communication, customer service and public relations skills.
• Ability to manage time, set priorities and work with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of pool supervision, aquatic risk, pool equipment and water chemistry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise patrons and enforce pool rules.
• Manage aquatic risk and provide a safe environment for swimmers.
• Test pool water quality in line with regulations and policies.
• Operate, set up, pack up and maintain pool equipment.
• Respond promptly and confidently to emergencies and safety concerns.
• Provide professional customer service to patrons, groups, schools and colleagues.

Based within Wellington Shire Council’s Culture and Leisurebusiness unit, this casual role provides an opportunity to help deliver safe,welcoming and professional aquatic services across Aqua Energy and WellingtonShire rural pools.

Are you a qualified and customer-focused lifeguard who canremain alert, communicate clearly and respond confidently to safety issues andemergencies? We are seeking a Customer Service Officer (Lifeguard) to join ourcasual aquatic team.

As part of the Aqua Energy team, you will supervise patronsand user groups, manage aquatic risk, maintain water quality and provideprofessional customer service. You will also work collaboratively withcolleagues and support trainees and new staff when required.

Key objectives of the roleinclude:

• Activelysupervise patrons and user groups and enforce pool rules when required.


• Manageaquatic risk and help provide a safe environment for swimmers.


• Testpool water quality in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures.


• Operate,set up, pack up, care for and store pool equipment correctly.


• Respondpromptly and confidently to emergencies, medical incidents and safety concerns.


• Provideprofessional customer service to patrons, user groups, members, schools andcolleagues.


• Supporttrainees and new staff and explain relevant procedures when required.

The successful candidate willneed to demonstrate:

• Acurrent Pool Lifeguard Certificate.


• CurrentLevel 2 First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation qualifications.


• Acurrent Working with Children Check.


• Strongcommunication, customer service and public relations skills.


• Theability to manage time, set priorities and work confidently with limitedsupervision.


• Knowledgeof pool supervision, aquatic risk, pool equipment and water chemistryrequirements.

Key Selection Criteria:

• CurrentPool Lifeguard Certificate, Level 2 First Aid and Cardio PulmonaryResuscitation qualifications.


• Demonstratedknowledge of pool supervision, aquatic risk, pool equipment and water chemistryrequirements.
