Job summary

Brimbank City Council is hiring 4 Cleansing Multi‑Skilled Officers to join the Cleansing team at the Keilor Park Operations Centre. You will help keep roads and footpaths clean and support the presentation of the municipality.

This permanent full-time role offers a 36-hour week, fortnightly RDO, generous leave provisions, and training opportunities. A Medium Rigid Licence and OH&S Induction are required, with a roster including weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work in line with our values.
• Physical fitness is required.
• Hold a Medium Rigid Truck Drivers Licence.
• Experience operating road and footpath sweepers.
• OH&S Induction Card is required.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and nights on a rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Operate various plant and equipment as listed in the position description.
• Report safety hazards and issues to the Supervisor.
• Collaborate with team members to organise materials and complete tasks.
• Participate in toolbox meetings and training sessions.
• Use initiative and problem-solving skills to complete tasks.
• Contribute ideas to improve safety and efficiency in work practices.

We are seeking 4 Cleansing Multi‑Skilled Officers to join our highly energetic, and hard working Cleansing team based at the Keilor Park Operations Centre.

The role

As a Cleansing Multi‑Skilled Officer, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness of our roads and footpaths as well as preserving the presentation of our municipality.

Responsibilities

• Operating various plant and equipment – see position description for a detailed list
• Reporting safety hazards and issues to the Supervisor
• Collaborate with team members to organise materials and complete tasks
• Participating in tool box meetings and training
• Using your initiative and problem solving skills to complete allocated tasks
• Contributing ideas for changes and improvements in work practices to enhance safety and efficiency

• Medium Rigid Truck Drivers Licence
• Experience operating road & footpath sweepers
• OH&S Induction Card
• Availability to work overtime, weekends/nights (on a rotating roster)

Please include in your application other experience or licenses you have, such as:

• Skid Steer Loader Certificate of Competency or may be obtained during first six months with Council
• Traffic Control & Worksite Traffic Management skills & qualifications or may be obtained during first six months with Council
• Spotters electrical safety awareness qualification or may be obtained during first six months with Council
• Heavy Rigid Licence
• Please note, if these requirements are not met upon commencement, Council will provide required training.
