Qualifications

• Eligible to serve in the United States Navy with citizenship or other lawful status as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; officer roles may require a bachelor's degree.
• Meets age limits and medical, vision, and dental standards.
• Background screening and security clearance eligibility.
• Achieves required test scores (ASVAB for enlisted, officer tests).
• Additional qualifications may include specific skills or certifications and will be reviewed by a recruiter.

Responsibilities

• Detonate and demolish hazardous munitions and outdated explosives.
• Neutralize ordnance including sea mines, torpedoes, depth charges, and IEDs.
• Remotely disable unsafe ordnance using robotic and diagnostic technology.
• Conduct parachute and helicopter insertion operations.
• Clear waterways of mines in support of ships and submarines.
• Provide explosive ordnance support to law enforcement agencies.
