Job summary

RTX's Electro-Optics Department in the U.S. seeks an Optical/EO engineer to support program activities from design through testing. The role involves alignment, modeling, and requirements validation for seeker systems used in missiles and related subsystems.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Optical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering and experience with electro-optical subsystems. A current or active DoD clearance is preferred or required to start, with onsite duties in Tucson, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optical/Electrical/Systems Engineering or related STEM field.
• Experience with Electro-Optical subsystems.
• ABET accreditation preferred is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate as mentee and individual contributor supporting program activities.
• Optical alignment and testing of optics assemblies.
• EO modeling, simulation, and analysis applications.
• Requirements development and validation; subsystem trade studies.
• Design of optical and opto-mechanical seeker systems or test fixtures for missiles.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to troubleshoot design/process issues.
• Support production activities in assembly and documentation of EO subsystems.
• Troubleshoot hardware and process issues down to board and component levels.
• Perform failure analysis and implement corrective actions on issues.
