Muon Space, Inc. is seeking a Staff Mission Formulation Lead - EO/IR to propel strategic capture and explore new markets in defense, intelligence, philanthropy, and commercial space sectors.

You will lead cross-functional teams, articulate mission concepts, and engage directly with customers to shape Muon’s offerings. The role requires strong remote sensing expertise, exceptional communication, and the ability to decompose complex objectives into actionable technical solutions, with TS/SCI

Formación

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Physics, Remote Sensing, Earth Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in Earth remote sensing mission and/or instrument development.
• Strong foundation in first principles and ability to decompose high level mission objectives into technical concepts.
• Experience in EO/IR and related space missions across government and commercial markets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Strong collaboration across engineering, satellite operations, mission architecture, and business development.
• Existing TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain and maintain.

Responsabilidades

• Lead execution of mission formulation contracts and drive cross-functional teams to deliver mission concepts.
• Lead strategic capture campaigns for high-value EO/IR mission opportunities across government and commercial markets.
• Drive multi-stage programs from early engagement through design concepts and end-to-end execution.
• Support early-stage R&D activities as Principal Investigator.
• Create technical proposals, white papers, and concept studies highlighting Muon’s differentiators.
• Perform feasibility studies and literature reviews to support early-stage mission concepts.
• Translate customer pain points into technical requirements and solutions.
• Collaborate with product management, business development, and engineering to identify new markets and technologies.
