Job summary

MPS Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team at the GM Factory Zero Complex in Detroit, MI. The role handles solid and hazardous waste at the plant and supports daily waste management tasks.

Responsibilities include collecting and segregating waste streams, performing inspections, loading shipments, and ensuring EPA-compliant waste handling. A High School Diploma or GED and at least one year in waste management are required; background and drug tests are needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year experience in waste management.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• HAZWOPER/HAZWOPER refresher preferred; DOT, RCRA, and Fork Truck training will be provided upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal, and other waste streams throughout the plant and transport them to disposal containers or storage rooms.
• Segregate, sort, and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with EPA requirements.
• Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfills, recycling centers, and other disposal sites.
• Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
• Maintain the 90-day Accumulation Area and label drums.
