Job summary

Allied World is seeking an experienced environmental underwriter to handle new and renewal environmental liability products, negotiating terms and conditions with brokers and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines. The role focuses on developing broker relationships to generate new business and manage existing accounts.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant underwriting experience, strong communication, analytical and relationship skills, and a willingness to travel about

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of environmental liability underwriting experience.
• Experience with site pollution, contractor’s pollution, and contractor’s professional policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.
• Strong business and relationship management skills.
• Excellent organizational and desk management skills.
• Undergraduate degree required; CPCU/ARM designation preferred.
• Approximately 25% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite environmental insurance products and negotiate terms.
• Broker development to generate new business and manage accounts.
• Prepare quotes, binders, referrals, and underwriting files.
• Maintain relationships with brokers, insureds, and internal teams for service.
• Coordinate marketing calls, stewardship meetings and events for product offerings.
