Job summary

Veolia | North America is seeking an Environmental Technician III to supervise production details and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities include supervising the segregation and packaging of hazardous materials, collecting samples for lab analysis, and completing paperwork accurately.

Qualifications

Position Overview

The Environmental Technician III is a key position supervising details of everyday production through effective communications within the team and outside teams, departments, etc.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Supervise segregation and packaging of material for process along with completion of required paperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Separate and pack hazardous material for transport.
  • Complete required paperwork in accordance with practices and procedures.
  • Collect samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to wear company‑provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel‑toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials.
  • Have the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste.
  • Has the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift, and possesses a safe driving record.
  • Proficiency with Windows‑based programs (Excel and Word).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA Regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.
