Job Description
General Responsibilities:
The Environmental Technician will perform various testing, observation, and inspection on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, and asphalt. The technician will communicate with Project Managers, client representatives, contractor’s representatives, and other key stakeholders regarding testing and inspection results. Tests are performed on building construction projects. Successful candidates will receive in-depth technical training and professional certifications as they advance in the position.
The role involves performing tests and sampling of environmental materials including air, groundwater, building materials, and noise. The technician will operate field monitoring equipment, assist with operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and may assist with asbestos surveys, abatement projects, and Phase I preliminary site assessments. Responsibilities also include transporting material samples or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis, tabulating and preparing data for reports, and maintaining field monitoring equipment.
