A leading consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Technician to conduct tests and inspections on construction materials. The role involves working with various stakeholders and requires a high school diploma and relevant experience. Training and certifications are provided as you advance.
Job Description
General Responsibilities:
The Environmental Technician will perform various testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, and asphalt. You will communicate with Project Managers, client representatives, contractor's representatives, and other key stakeholders regarding testing and inspection results. Tests are performed on building construction projects. Successful candidates will receive in-depth technical training and professional certifications as they advance in the position.
Responsibilities include performing tests and sampling of environmental materials including air, groundwater, building materials, and noise; operating field monitoring equipment; assisting with operation and maintenance of remediation systems; assisting with asbestos surveys, abatement projects, and Phase I preliminary site assessments; transporting material samples or documents to the lab for testing and analysis; tabulating and preparing data for reports; and cleaning and maintaining field monitoring equipment.
