Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking an Environmental Technician to support a Maui, Hawai`i project. The role involves monitoring environmental resources, collecting samples, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The incumbent will assist in spills response, waste management, and remediation projects. Responsibilities include maintaining hazmat storage, training staff on waste minimization, and preparing documentation for government customers.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience as a technician in an environmental field of work.
• Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and MS Teams.
• Knowledge of RCRA 40 CFR, DOT 49 CFR, and AFI 32-7001 to 32-7003.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains an environmental accumulation area.
• Inspects waste and hazmat storage areas.
• Conducts environmental sampling and prepares samples for shipping.
• Initiates and trains staff on waste minimization practices.
• Participates in emergency spill response and environmental compliance tasks.
• Communicates safety rules and maintains a safe work environment.
