Job summary

Environmental Compliance Consultants Inc. (ECC) seeks a Technician at our Anchorage Service Center to support environmental and industrial operations with emphasis on safety, waste handling, sampling, and equipment maintenance. Travel to regional sites may be required.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 0–5 years in industrial services, 40-hour HAZWOPER, and a valid CDL with Hazmat preferred. ECC offers comprehensive benefits and year-round Alaska employment.

Qualifications

• Safety-oriented mindset with strong adherence to procedures and policies.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–5 years’ experience in industrial services or environmental waste management.
• HAZWOPER 40-hour training and 8-hour refresher as applicable.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL with Hazmat preferred.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and background checks for access to facilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends.
• Positive attitude, integrity, and strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field.
• Ability to meet physical demands and work with minimal supervision.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
• General computer and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety program requirements during all activities.
• Complete Activity Hazard Analysis prior to tasks where applicable.
• Assist in collection, handling, labeling, and disposal of waste and materials per regulations.
• Segregate waste types to prevent contamination and package securely for transport.
• Perform physical labor related to industrial operations.
• Assist maintenance and inspection of environmental control equipment.
• Participate in spill response and cleanup activities.
• Collect waste and environmental samples (water, soil, air).
• Support warehouse organization and inventory management.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety at facilities and worksites.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment (forklifts, pumps, hand tools).
• Enter confined spaces to clean and maintain tanks and related systems.
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment inspections and minor maintenance.
• Document data from waste management and spill responses; complete job reports.
• Travel to regional locations; occasional travel beyond local area.
• Engage in training to enhance technical skills.
