Help ensure environmental compliance and project safety across infrastructure, housing, rehabilitation, and capital improvement initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Technician (Asbestos & Lead) to join our talent pipeline for anticipated project opportunities supporting construction, rehabilitation, housing, infrastructure, and disaster recovery programs. This role will provide technical support related to asbestos-containing materials (ACM), lead-based paint (LBP), environmental compliance, documentation review, and regulatory coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

As an Environmental Technician, you will support environmental compliance efforts to help ensure projects meet applicable regulatory requirements while minimizing environmental and safety risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project scopes of work, drawings, specifications, inspection reports, and project documentation to identify asbestos and lead-related requirements.
• Review asbestos inspection reports, lead-based paint assessments, risk assessments, and environmental compliance documentation prepared by qualified professionals.
• Verify that required inspections, testing, surveys, and assessments are completed prior to construction activities.
• Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP).
• Review asbestos abatement plans, lead hazard control plans, technical specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate environmental compliance activities with project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Track environmental documentation, including permits, notifications, waste disposal records, air monitoring reports, clearance reports, and closeout documentation.
• Identify environmental compliance deficiencies, documentation gaps, and regulatory risks.
• Recommend corrective actions and support issue resolution.
• Maintain organized project files and audit-ready environmental documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in: Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Construction Management or Related Field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in: Environmental Compliance, Asbestos Management, Lead-Based Paint Management, Environmental Inspections, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Environmental Services or Similar Environmental Programs
• Experience reviewing environmental reports and compliance documentation.
• Strong documentation, analytical, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current accreditation, certification, or licensing for asbestos and/or lead-related activities.
• Experience supporting construction, housing, rehabilitation, infrastructure, or disaster recovery projects.
• Knowledge of: EPA Regulations, OSHA Regulations, HUD Environmental Requirements, NESHAP (40 CFR Part 61), AHERA (40 CFR Part 763), EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule (40 CFR Part 745)
• Experience coordinating with environmental consultants, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
• Familiarity with federally funded construction projects and environmental compliance requirements.
