The Planet Group is hiring an Environmental Technician in Kansas City, MO. This full-time, contract-to-hire role focuses on safe handling of chemicals and hazardous waste, with a need for punctuality and strong problem solving.

You will support the Program Manager, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to our Emergency Response readiness through on-call duties. A high school diploma and clean driving record are required.

Responsabilidades

• Technical: maintain attendance, learn software, assist Program Manager as requested.
• Hands-on: handle chemicals and hazardous waste; operate a material shredder; wear respirator as needed.
• Customer Service: provide high quality service; maintain a positive attitude and clear communication; participate in optional Emergency Response on-call.

Basic Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Basic knowledge of, or interest in, the hazardous waste field.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Self-motivated person with the desire to learn.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
• Must have a reliable form of transportation.
• Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC).
• Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.
• The Environmental Technicianfrequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive.

Preferred Requirements

• Prior relevant industry experience
• Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
• Forklift Experience
