Job summary

EIS Holding is seeking an Environmental Technician to perform field and technical tasks related to site investigation and remediation under the Project Manager. The role supports groundwater sampling, system operations, and site oversight in a challenging environment in Bentonville, AR.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, HAZWOPER training, and 2+ years in environmental/engineering environments, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental/engineering company preferred.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform groundwater sampling at various sites per regulations and SOPs.
• Operate and maintain remedial treatment systems with monthly visits.
• Assist geological site investigations including groundwater, soil, sediment and surface water sampling.
• Provide field oversight of drilling subcontractors and well installations.
• Coordinate sample packing and shipping to laboratories.
• May operate heavy equipment and perform lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ensure activities meet safety and environmental regulations.

Position Description – Environmental Technician

Business Group/Dept: Operations

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Project Manager

Purpose of the Position

Perform variety of field and technical tasks associated with the phases of environmental site investigation and remediation under the direction of the project manager.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Perform groundwater sampling collection at various sites pursuant to government regulations and EIS Standard Operating Procedures.
• Performs operation and maintenance of remedial treatment systems to include monthly scheduled visits, system restarts, trouble shooting for system failures and maintenance/repair of system components.
• May assist in geological site investigations including groundwater, soil, sediment and surface water sampling under the direction of the project manager.
• Conducts field oversight of drilling subcontractors including oversight of well installation, soil/groundwater sampling and testing.
• Assists with physical duties associated with excavations, remediation system installations, remediation system modifications, and site restoration.
• Coordinates sample packing and shipping to laboratory subcontractor.
• May operate heavy equipment, power tools, hand tools, and engage in moderate to heavy lifting.
• Helps ensure that all activities meet or exceed the customer’s expectations, Company standards, and all applicable safety and environmental regulations.

Physical activities

Must be on feet for up to 10 hours per day; regular standing, sitting, kneeling, twisting, bending; must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds; must be able to work in extreme hot/cold, wet/dry environment; must be able to perform repetitive motions such as lifting, carrying, shoveling. Regular driving of a truck, up to several hours per trip.
