Job summary

EIS Holding, LLC, a leading environmental services provider in the United States, seeks an Environmental Technician in Memphis, TN. You will perform field and technical tasks related to site investigation and remediation under the direction of the project manager.

The role involves groundwater sampling, managing remedial systems, and assisting with drilling oversight, site restoration, and reporting while upholding safety, regulations, and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Performs groundwater and soil sampling per SOPs and regulations.
• Assists with site investigations under project manager direction.
• Operates and maintains remedial treatment systems and field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform groundwater sampling collection at various sites pursuant to government regulations and EIS SOPs.
• Performs operation and maintenance of remedial treatment systems, including monthly visits, restarts, and repairs.
• Assist in geological site investigations including groundwater, soil, sediment and surface water sampling.
• Conducts field oversight of drilling subcontractors, including well installation and sampling/testing.
• Assists with excavation duties, remediation system installations, modifications, and site restoration.
• Coordinates sample packing and shipping to laboratory subcontractor.
• May operate heavy equipment and power tools and perform lifting as needed.
• Ensure activities meet customer expectations, Company standards, and safety regulations.

Position Description – Environmental Technician

Business Group/Dept: Operations

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Project Manager

Purpose of the Position

Perform variety of field and technical tasks associated with the phases of environmental site investigation and remediation under the direction of the project manager.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Perform groundwater sampling collection at various sites pursuant to government regulations and EIS Standard Operating Procedures.
• Performs operation and maintenance of remedial treatment systems to include monthly scheduled visits, system restarts, trouble shooting for system failures and maintenance/repair of system components.
• May assist in geological site investigations including groundwater, soil, sediment and surface water sampling under the direction of the project manager.
• Conducts field oversight of drilling subcontractors including oversight of well installation, soil/groundwater sampling and testing.
• Assists with physical duties associated with excavations, remediation system installations, remediation system modifications, and site restoration.
• Coordinates sample packing and shipping to laboratory subcontractor.
• May operate heavy equipment, power tools, hand tools, and engage in moderate to heavy lifting.
• Helps ensure that all activities meet or exceed the customer's expectations, Company standards, and all applicable safety and environmental regulations.

Physical activities: Must be on feet for up to 10 hours per day; regular standing, sitting, kneeling, twisting, bending; must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds; must be able to work in extreme hot/cold, wet/dry environment; must be able to perform repetitive motions such as lifting, carrying shoveling. Regular driving of a truck, up to several hours per trip.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Steel toed footwear; hard hat; safety vest; protective eyewear; gloves

Licenses/Certifications Required: 40-hour HAZWOPER; satisfactory employee physical; Valid Driver License with Clean Driving Record

Preferred Education/Certifications: High School Diploma or GED; OSHA 30; 2+ years experience in environmental/engineering company
