EIS, based in Wheat Ridge, CO, seeks an experienced Environmental Compliance Project Manager to oversee a large oil and gas client portfolio through the ECMC regulatory lifecycle, from investigation to closure.

You will coordinate technical teams, prepare and review technical reports, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure timely, high‑quality deliverables while staying current with ECMC rules and OSHA standards. Some travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of environmental experience including project management.
  • Strong knowledge of Colorado ECMC regulations, including 900 Series Rules.
  • Experience with spill reporting (Form 19) and site remediation planning (Form 27).
  • Willingness to travel regionally and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of oil & gas remediation and compliance projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee field activities, including soil and groundwater sampling.
  • Remediation system implementation and oversight.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory documents (Form 19, Form 27).
  • Ensure ECMC, CDPHE, and EPA compliance.
  • Develop scopes of work, work plans, cost estimates, and proposals.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal field teams.
  • Serve as a primary client point of contact and manage expectations.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, data summaries, and closure documentation.
  • Maintain project data, tracking systems, and regulatory deadlines.
  • Support Phase I/II ESAs and spill response as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Stay current on evolving ECMC rules and industry best practices.
  • Uphold company safety standards and OSHA compliance.

Job description

This role will support a large oil & gas client portfolio with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and site closure under ECMC requirements. This role is based out of our Wheat Ridge, CO office with flexibility for hybrid work and periodic field and client site visits.

You will manage a high-volume portfolio of projects through the full compliance lifecycle—from initial investigation to final closure—while coordinating technical teams and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables. This is a fast-paced, technical role requiring strong regulatory knowledge, organization, and ownership.

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and overall financial performance
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal field teams
  • Serve as a primary client point of contact, managing communication, expectations, and deliverables
  • Prepare and review technical reports, data summaries, and closure documentation
  • Maintain project data, tracking systems, and regulatory deadlines
  • Support additional environmental work such as Phase I/II ESAs and spill response as needed
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and project closure acceleration
  • Stay current on evolving ECMC rules and industry best practices
  • Uphold and promote company safety standards and OSHA compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of environmental experience, including project management
  • Strong working knowledge of Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) regulations, including 900 Series Rules
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Spill response and reporting (Form 19)
  • Site investigation and remediation planning (Form 27)
  • Experience with spill response, investigation, and remediation planning
  • Familiarity working with agencies such as CDPHE and U.S. EPA
  • Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting
  • Comfortable leading field activities and coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with standard office software and environmental data tools
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company screening requirements
  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed

Preferred:

  • PEC SafeLand USA certification
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with remediation system design or AutoCAD
  • Experience working directly with ECMC regulators and closure processes
