Job summary

Intertek is seeking an Environmental Technician I to support our Pittsburgh environmental team. This entry-level role involves asbestos and indoor air quality work, field surveys, sampling, and site assessments, with occasional travel and some off-shift hours.

The position offers exposure to regulatory programs, QA/QC processes, and client communication, supporting growth in environmental consulting within Intertek's Building and Construction division.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Must read and understand scope of work/work plans.
• Must work off shifts and overtime and travel as needed.
• Valid Driver’s License with reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Asbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold Surveys
• Asbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold Abatement Monitoring
• Asbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold Clearance Sampling
• Asbestos Air Sample Analysis
• Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
• Phase II/Subsurface Investigations
• Prepare and review field documents and reports
• Communicate with clients and agencies to keep projects on schedule
• Participate in QA/QC and safety programs
