Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Associate to join our team for full-time night shifts (10:00pm-6:30am or 10:30pm-7:00am) with every other weekend and holiday. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and public areas, replenishing supplies, and maintaining equipment to meet hospital standards.

The role is fast-paced and essential to the quality of care provided; candidates must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and move housekeeping tasks

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or housekeeping within a healthcare or hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Comfort working night shifts and moving/lifting tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Make beds and clean patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms.
• Inspect areas for cleanliness and report problems to supervisor.
• Replenish supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, soap) in assigned areas.
• Clean patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment.
• Maintain and report condition of equipment; keep areas in good repair.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas and follow safety procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture as needed and wash walls or carpets.
• Follow all sanitation regulations and written procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning all aspects of assigned areas, and equipment, to meet hospital and department standards. This role is fast paced and crucial in promoting the quality of care rendered in the environment. Responsibilities may also include moving equipment, furniture, boxes, and handling blinds and curtains.

May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.

Responsibilities:

• Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to ensure an adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and equipment, following established procedures.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, report problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes; wash walls, spot carpets, etc., as assigned.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.
• 18 years old preferred
