Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools is seeking an Environmental Program Manager for Building Services in Charlottesville, VA. The role develops and manages sustainability programs, ensures regulatory compliance, and coordinates with multiple departments and external partners.

The position requires a Bachelor's in environmental sciences and at least 3 years of related experience; a Master’s degree is preferred. Responsibilities include dashboards, grant administration, and reporting to the School

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in coordinating environmental compliance or sustainability projects.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain Virginia licenses within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance programs.
• Coordinates with ACPS departments and external agencies; prepares reports for committees and the School Board.
• Manages grant opportunities and data dashboards to track performance of sustainability projects.
• Supports long-range climate action planning and zero-emission initiatives.
