Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools is seeking an Environmental Program Manager to lead sustainability initiatives across its facilities. You will develop and manage programs, analyze data, prepare reports for committees and the School Board, and ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

You will advise on design and construction, coordinate with departments and partners, pursue grants, and track performance with dashboards while advancing the Climate Action Plan and ACPS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or related field required or equivalent experience.
• Experience coordinating environmental compliance and sustainability projects preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage environmental and sustainability programs for ACPS facilities.
• Analyze data, prepare informative materials for committees and School Board.
• Coordinate with departments and external partners on environmental initiatives.
• Pursue grants related to energy, climate protection, and pollution prevention.
• Maintain dashboards tracking performance of sustainable projects and resource usage.
• Advise on new building projects regarding sustainable principles and LEED/Energy Star standards.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
