Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Project Environmental Scientist/Geoscientist to support our Resilience Environment team in the U.S. The role emphasizes statistical methods for soil and groundwater characterization, with leadership in data-driven decision making.

The candidate will develop defensible statistical approaches for site characterization, risk assessment, and long-term monitoring while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory agencies in a hybrid work model in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Statistics or Mathematics, or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on statistics.
• Comparative statistics work experience.
• 5+ years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Review conceptual site models and regulatory requirements to develop statistically defensible strategies.
• Plan and execute statistical analyses for soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigations.
• Interpret analytical results in context of site conditions and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare technical memoranda, monitoring reports, and regulatory submittals communicating methods and findings.
• Present statistical approaches and recommendations to project teams and clients.
• Provide technical responses to client and regulator comments and questions.
• Serve as a focused practitioner in environmental statistics, guiding multidisciplinary teams.
• Travel potentially up to 20% based on project needs.
