Environmental Staff Project Manager/Scientist/Geologist– Charlotte, North Carolina

What are we looking for?

The Environmental Staff Project Manager/Staff Scientist/Geologist is responsible for supporting the Environmental department in all services including Phase I/II ESA’s, asbestos surveys, lead-based paint survey, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil/groundwater sampling and more. This person will complete fieldwork as well as work on technical reports and proposals. This position will travel up to 20% of the time depending on project load/location.

Shift/Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM (may vary)

What you’ll do:

  • Perform environmental services including Phase I and II environmental site assessments (ESAs)
  • Perform soil and groundwater sampling
  • Assist in assessment and remediation and field observation documentation
  • Perform industrial hygiene services to include assisting with asbestos, indoor air quality, and lead surveys
  • Prepare technical proposals and reports
  • Communicate with clients and regulators to keep projects moving and on schedule
  • Self-manage and make decisions during all phases of a project
  • Manage and control project budgets and build solid relationships with clients

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • 3+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience
  • Must be able to perform tasks in varying field/office conditions
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one’s discipline
  • Strong technical proposal and report writing abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
  • Ability to climb occasionally
