Job Description

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Environmental Specialist Trainee to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office.

Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities include planning, inspection, monitoring, compliance reporting, client interaction, and personnel management for the recycling and stormwater inspection/maintenance projects at BWI and Martin State Airports as well as providing support to other environmental projects, as needed.
  • This field office is a designated 24/ 7 emergency essential facility.
  • Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required.
Estimated Pay Range

$47,938.80 - $65,934.96

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, in environmental science, ecology, or related field.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
  • Ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment physical exam.
  • Must be able to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.
  • Strong orally and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have experience with environmental compliance, environmental mitigation and remediation, and/or recycling & sustainability programs as well as working within a dynamic, high demand environment.

This position is eligible for on-spot, contingent offers.
