Job summary

CHS, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist at the McPherson Refinery to maintain environmental programs, policies, and documentation. The role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.

Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork are essential. The successful candidate will monitor regulatory changes, support audits, and provide environmental guidance to refinery operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental regulations (Clean Water Act, TSCA, Clean Air Act) and related requirements.
• Ability to interpret data, prepare reports and QA/QC on scientific data.

Responsibilities

• Stay current with environmental regulations to ensure compliance.
• Perform hazardous waste determinations and review reports for regulatory compliance.
• Compile data, perform calculations, and QA/QC on reports.
• Prepare graphs, charts, and statistical models from data.
• Coordinate environmental analysis projects and review plans (SWPP, SPCC, FRP).
• Assist in environmental liability cost estimates and audits.
