Job summary

Florida Forest Service, a division of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, seeks an Environmental Specialist III to implement BMP/WBMP programs across Florida. The role includes coordinating biennial surveys, identifying sites, and conducting on-site evaluations of silvicultural activities.

You will provide technical assistance, stay current on BMP regulations, and support NOI programs and data management. Occasional travel and emergency response are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental protection, regulation, or health is required.
• Six months or more in related field with a Bachelor's degree is acceptable.
• Bachelor's degree or higher and related experience in environmental protection, regulation, or health.

Responsibilities

• Implement BMP and WBMP programs across Florida.
• Conduct statewide Silviculture/Forestry BMP surveys and site evaluations.
• Provide technical assistance on Silviculture BMP and Forestry WBMP statewide.
• Assist with NOI programs, data management, and reporting.
