The City of Dallas is seeking an Environmental Specialist II to perform mid-level environmental inspections and investigations ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations. You will work in the field, sample materials, respond to spills, and prepare data-filled reports to support permit requirements for municipal water, stormwater, and sewer programs.

You will use Power BI and Excel for data analysis, provide training to staff, and participate in emergency response activities.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in environmental inspections and spill response.
• Licenses & Certifications including HAZWOPER within probation; CESCP/Boater certificates may be required.
• Strong ability to document non-compliant findings and communicate clearly.

• Provide mid-level expertise on complex environmental evaluations, inspections, and reviews of city services and utilities.
• Monitor spills and ensure proper cleanup; investigate causes and determine future prevention.
• Inspect sites/facilities for environmental compliance and communicate issues with stakeholders.
• Prepare and file extensive reports on inspection activities; document non-compliance.
• Apply environmental policies and provide training to staff to improve efficiency.
• Respond to 24-hour emergency service requests and document investigations.
• Coordinate investigations with other city departments and external agencies; manage records.
