This position is located in Jacksonville, FL

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

This is an entry-level professional position in the Compliance Assurance Program responsible for potable water compliance assistance and inspection activities. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conducts and documents compliance assistance and inspection activities for potable water facilities pursuant to rules and statutory requirements. Reviews permits for assigned facilities and conducts inspections for compliance and conditions of issued permits.
• Assists and advises owners/operators with compliance issues as appropriate.
• Investigates assigned complaints. Recommends compliance and enforcement actions as appropriate.
• Drafts basic compliance and enforcement documents such as compliance assistance offer letters, warning letters, notice of violations, consent orders and model documents.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of required data and system information into agency databases and Oculus.
• Assists with outreach and compliance assistance to owners and operators as needed.
• Participates in training activities as required.
• Performs related work as required by supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of the terminology, principles and analytical techniques of the environmental or natural sciences.
• Knowledge of data collection and analysis principles and procedures.
• Ability to collect, evaluate, analyze and interpret scientific or technical reports and supporting documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of verifiable related experience. Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.

Position of Special Trust Requirement:

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

Pay:

$43, 230 Annually
