Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division in Orchard Park, NY is seeking an Environmental Specialist to partner with the EHS Site Lead to ensure compliance with environmental and health regulations and to drive sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities include regulatory program oversight (RCRA, SWPPP, AIR, WASTEWATER, GHS), audits, incident investigations, training development, and advancing a zero-incident safety culture across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or related field with 1 year of environmental program experience.
• Master's degree preferred in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations (RCRA, EPCRA, NESHAP, Clean Air Act) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight to ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.
• Develop and manage compliance trainings and site-wide communications.
• Support management of change processes for new processes, equipment or chemicals.
• Serve as liaison with external regulatory agencies during audits and follow-up.
• Conduct incident investigations and ensure corrective actions.
• Perform internal audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance.
• Develop environmental/sustainability plans with objectives and metrics.
• Promote a zero-incident EHS culture and engage employees in safety activities.
• Oversee ISO 14001 program and environmental management across facilities.
