Job Description / Desired Qualifications
  • Environmental Test Lab – Lab Reporting & Quality Control Group (QA/QC)
  • The Environmental Laboratory provides analytical services used for regulatory compliance, contract specification verification and asset protection.
  • This position provides support for sample receiving and customer kits, essential to ensure customer expectations are met for various sample categories.
  • Routine responsibilities include cleaning sample containers, building sample kits, and assisting project managers with sample receipt. Other duties may include providing support for other positions or other areas of the lab, as needed.
Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Work safely, identify and implement corrective actions for unsafe working conditions.
  • Consistently maintain attention to detail while performing all job duties.
  • Assist QC project managers with sample receipt, as needed (e.g., checking pH, labeling samples)
  • Build sample kits for customers and maintain a clean supply of transformer oil syringes.
  • Maintain excellent lines of communication with customers and co-workers.
  • Partner with employees, management, and customers to effectively manage analytical and quality control procedures that enable the lab to provide cost effective, timely and accurate services.
  • Partner with laboratory sections to ensure all quality control processes are followed to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the lab’s quality management system.
Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (chemistry, biology, environmental science or related field) with a minimum of 15 semester hours of chemistry is preferred.
  • Experience with quality control requirements for analytical methods is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to develop relationships with a variety of internal/external work groups and customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand technical procedures.
  • Ability to detect problems and work with others to solve.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office suite with accurate and efficient typing (keyboarding) skills.
  • Understanding OSHA laboratory safety requirements of 29 CFR 1910.
  • Supplemental worker will be required to have the following PPE to perform job duties: safety glasses, disposable nitrile gloves, lab coat.

Assignment Schedule
  • The assignment will require the candidate to work 5 days in the office, Monday-Friday.
  • The hours are somewhat flexible, allowing for the following schedules: 7am – 4pm, 8am – 5pm, or a flex schedule with 9 hours Monday through Thursday and 4 hours on Friday.
