Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Planner/Siting Specialist to support electrical transmission line routing and substation siting projects for utilities and developers. The role involves writing and providing technical support for routing and siting, plus assisting with proposals, plans, and project closure steps, with GIS capabilities a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science, planning, engineering, or related field with demonstrated experience with environmental planning, assessment and documentation.
5+ years of industry experience in routing and siting, NEPA documents, or related energy projects.
Strong technical writing skills and ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) processes (desirable).
Ability to contribute to proposals and business development activities.

Responsibilities

Complete tasks according to approved scopes of work.
Assist with routing and siting studies for linear and renewable energy projects.
Contribute to proposals and pre-qualifications.
Support Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and guidelines.
