Job summary

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH in Pensacola, FL seeks an Environmental Specialist II to serve as local Site Manager for the SUPER Act program across several counties. You will manage site rehabilitations, evaluate regulatory documents, and coordinate with owners and consultants.

The role requires knowledge of hydrogeology, experience with environmental regulations, and the ability to travel. A valid driver’s license and HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain) are required, with preferred BS

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• HAZWOPER certification 29 CFR 1910.120 or be able to obtain within six months.
• Florida Certified Contract Manager certification or be able to obtain within 12 months per F.S. 287.057(15).

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of site rehabilitation for petroleum and other pollutants.
• Serve as local Site Manager for SUPER Act program across multiple counties.
• Coordinate with owners, consultants, and stakeholders on work plans and submittals.
• Review Contamination Assessment Reports and Remedial Action Plans for regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical advice to upper management and promote the department’s mission.
