Job summary
The State of Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection in Tallahassee seeks an Environmental Specialist II to supervise contamination assessment and remedial actions for state-funded petroleum cleanup projects. Qualifications
- This role requires a minimum four years of verifiable experience in environmental sciences or a related field.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to sites for inspections.
- Experience with site remediation programs and procurement processes is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review site cleanup files and request proposals for scopes of work.
- Consult with licensed professionals, negotiate terms, and prepare purchase orders.
- Perform on-site inspections and review contractor deliverables and reports.
- Monitor progress of site assessment and rehabilitation activities for timeliness and cost control.
- Update OCULUS, STCM and related databases with project information.
